All the classes enrich the curriculum by going on regular day trips.
Outdoor Education
Outdoor education forms an integral part of the curriculum. All the grades 5, 6 and 7
children are involved in the outdoor education programme at the school, which is geared to making
the children more aware of their environment, and at the same time enabling the children to have
fun outside the classroom situation. While the cost of the grade 5 excursion is included in the
school fees, the grade 6 and 7 excursions are an additional expense to the parents.
The grade 5 children visit the SOS Camp in Villiersdorp for a 3 day camp and follow a well
organised and carefully structured programme of activities with the accent on teamwork. For many
children this is the first time that they sleep away from home!
The grade 6 children attend the Parmalat Environmental Centre in Kommetjie for a 3 day
camp, where the emphasis is on the study of coastal vegetation and marine ecology. The
identification of leadership potential also forms part of this camp.
In the grade 7 year the children attend a 4 day camp at Wortelgat near Stanford, where
group activities are aimed at developing teamwork and identifying leadership potential.

Each grade from grade four to seven, holds a Science Expo each year. Every child displays and explains his/her project to his/her peers and the grade below them.
